What is CTET all about?

CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test, i.e., being conducted by CBSE, (Central Board Of Secondary Education) after every six months which is again working by the guideline that is framed by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education). CTET 2017 is an eligibility test which needed to be qualified to apply/appear for different exams such as TGT, PGT, TET, BTC, NTT. It appoints Teachers for schools like KVS/NVS.
Central Board of Secondary Education has been given the responsibility to conduct CTET 2017 Examination by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. Of India. Certificates are compulsory for becoming a teacher for class I o VIII in any central Government Schools. There are three level of CTET 2017 which are categories below:-

  • Level I:– For those who want to be a teacher for class I to class V (Primary teacher)
  • For Level II:- For those who want to be a teacher for class VI to VIII (TGT- Trained Graduate Teacher)
  • Level III:- For those who want to be a PGT( Post graduate teacher).

Eligibility Criteria for appearing in CBSE CTET 2017 Online Application form 2017

What is the Minimum Qualification needed to apply for CTET 2017?

  • The Candidate who is appearing for CTET 2017 should be Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 45% marks, passed or who is final year appearing can also apply with two years of Diploma in Elementary Education by norms and procedure as prescribed by NCTE 2002 for Class I to V.
  • The Candidate who is appearing for CTET 2017 should be Senior Secondary or its Equivalent with at least 45% marks, passed or who is final year appearing can also apply with two years of Diploma in Elementary Education by norms and procedure as prescribed by NCTE 2002 for Class I to V.
  • For class VI to VIII  bachelor in Education (B.Ed), per criteria and procedure prescribed by NCTE issued from time to time.
  • For BA/B.Sc/ Senior secondary level 5%  of relaxation in minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates will be given.

  • All those who are appearing should be minimum of 18 years of age & there is no limit for upper age.

What is the Examination Fees for CTET 2017 Application Form?

  • For general/OBC Applicants:- 600/- For paper I or paper II whereas Rs 1000/- for both the papers I & II
  •  For SC/ST/ Differently Abled person Applicant:- RS 300/- for paper I or paper II whereas Rs 500/- for both paper I & II.

What will be Criteria for Selection for CTET 2017?

Candidates will be selected by the marks obtained in the examination. There will be two papers, i.e., the paper I for Primary class and paper II for upper Primary class. Candidates who will qualify in the examination concerned will be called for Personal Interview.

 Syllabus:-

  • There will be two paper containing objective type multiple questions.
  • Question for CTET 2017 will be in both Hindi as well as in English medium.
  • Each paper will contain 150 (1 marks each) marks.
  • There will be no negative marking.
  • Duration of the examination is 01 hr 30 minutes, and there will be altogether 30 questions.
  • Each paper will contain five different subjects.

Passing Marks/cutoff for CTET 2017

According to guidelines prescribed by NCTE, whoever securing 60%, i.e., (90/150) marks (55% for SC/ST/PH applicants) in CTET 2011 declare pass, and they will be awarded the certificate of TET (Teacher Eligibility Test). The certificate which will be granted to candidates who will qualify is valid for seven years from the date of declaration of the result of all categories. There is no restriction on the number of attempts in fact candidate can reappear for improving his/her previous score.

What is the Procedure to Register for CTET?

Candidates should first check whether they meet all the said Criteria or not then only they need to fill the ONLINE form by logging in to the official website of CTET, i.e., www.ctet.nic.in. After filling all the details properly take the print out of the computer generated registration form. Then candidates need to pay the fee through the help of challan or online mode. There are steps by steps ways to apply online as given below:-

  1. Login to the official website for CTET 2017 For online form i.e www.ctet.nic.in
  2. Give a proper look at the details instruction which is provided on the site.
  3. Then should start the registration with necessary information.
  4. After filling all the essential information computer will generate the Registration Id & Password.
  5. After that Aspirants must login into CTET 2017 application form.
  6. Candidates are required to submit the form with correct & relevant details.
  7. Upload photograph & signature by scanning it.
  8. Pay the application fee whatever mentioned.
  9. After paying check fee & click on the submit button.
  10. After clicking on submit button, a confirmation page will open which applicant must save for further future references.

Admit card for CTET 2017 is an essential document one should carry as it is the pass which allows the candidates to enter the exam premises and also required for other future references so here are some of the steps to download the admit card for CTET 2017:-

  1. Go to the official website of CTET
  2. Click on the “Teacher Eligibility Test Amit card/ hall ticket.”
  3. After that, Candidate has to enter his /her details in the column specified.
  4. Fill out all mandatory information then Click submit button
  5. Then either save the admit card or take the print out of CTET 2017.
